Scotch™ Electrical Stress Control Tape 2220 is a 30 mil thick, gray tape. This tape is included in some tape termination kits.
Use Scotch® 2220 Electrical Stress Control Tape 19 mm x 4.5 m to change the voltage distribution in the electrical field surrounding medium voltage joints or terminations. This tape will regulate lines of flux to equalise the electrical stresses in a controlled manner along the entire taped joint or termination area where the shielding has been removed. By changing the electrical field surrounding the joint or termination, the stress concentration is reduced from several thousand volts to values found in continuous cable.
